Does Factory Plug for Trailer Wiring Exist on 2015 Ford Transit T350
Question:
Hello, I recently purchased 22116 and when I went to install it I found a factory capped plug that appears to be for trailer wiring, I have attached a picture and I am hoping that you can tell me if there is a part that will plug in and be a much easier install than the 22116 part. Thank you.

Everything that we have either plugs into a US Car Connector like what the Curt T-Connector # C55774, or it plugs in behind the tail lights like what the Tekonsha # 22114 and # C56327 do. During my research I wasn't able to find an OEM connector for trailer wiring that looked like that but it's still worth looking into.
If you remove the fake plug from that connector and then use a circuit tester # PTW2979 to test the functions of the various pins on that connector, then you should be able to determine what it's used for. I have attached a photo showing what the different functions are for a standard 7-Way connector that you can use to help you figure out if that's for trailer wiring or not.
If that happens to be for trailer wiring, then we don't have a connector that matches up to that so the only solution we can really provide is for you to cut that connector off and hardwire in the connections from the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7.
