Can A High Low Adapter Be Used With Weight Distribution System
Question:
Sir, do you manufacture a High/Low hitch adapter that can be used to tow an enclosed trailer 7foot X 16foot V-Nosed double axle trailer - weighing about 7,000 LBS? I have an existing Weight-distributing hitch that does not go low enough without an adapter, do you have any suggestions.

The best option I have for you to tow level with a weight distribution system would be to replace the shank with one that offers more drop/rise. The great thing about this is that these weight distribution shanks are all universal for the most part. The Curt Weight Distribution Shank part # 17120 for example offers 5-3/4" of drop on a trunnion system. If you can let me know exactly how much drop you need I can make a better recommendation or you can choose from the list below. In order to find your rise/drop needs, subtract the distance from the ground to the bottom of the coupler from the distance from the ground to the top inside edge of the trailer hitch
Unfortunately, you cannot use high/low adapters for towing nor is it a good idea to use any adapter because they cut weight capacity too far.
