Activating the Curt Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2008 Toyota Highlander
Question:
I hooked this up and it does not seem to work. I verified the ground and I have a signal going to the converter under the dash but no signal on the other side where the second harness plugs in. Someone in the comments mentioned an in-line fuse?

For the Curt wiring harness, # C56217, for a 2008 Toyota Highlander, the harness itself has an inline fuse with the fuse already inserted. You can check that fuse to make sure that it is in place and not blown.
There is also a 10 amp mini fuse that needs to be installed in the power distribution box under the hood. This amp goes in position 30 in the fuse panel as indicated in the instructions I have linked.
With the fuses in place the harness should work properly. If it does not, consult the vehicle owners manual for the locations of any additional fuses that may be required. I have included a link to a video for a similar harness that has the same installation procedure that should help.
