Lube Recommendation for the Ultra-Fab 24 inch Ultra Scissor Jack
Question:
I have looked all over the site for info about lube for the scissor jack. I know that oil or grease will just collect lots of dust. Do you have suggestions for lubing the jack?

My recommendation for lubrication of the worm gear assembly on the Ultra-Fab Ultra Scissor Jack, # UF48-979006, would be to use Marine Trailer Wheel Bearing Grease, # L54FR. These are 3-3oz cartridges made to use with a grease gun like # L30-132-07 to apply the grease. You can use it out of the tube without a grease gun if you wish. The reason I recommend using a marine type of grease is that it resists moisture better than standard grease and will help prevent corrosion of the worm gear assembly for easier operation.
You are correct that grease collects dust and road debris, so periodic cleaning and re greasing is recommended to keep the worm gear working smoothly.
At this time I do not have a better solution that would keep the assembly lubed properly while resisting the collection of dust and road debris on the grease.
