Trailer Hitch Ball Mount With Longer Shaft and 2-5/16 Inch Hitch Ball

Question:

i have a Dodge Ram pickup truck and I an trying to find a ball mount with a longer shaft. I had one before but after we moved I am unable to find it. With an average size shaft, my wife has damaged her pickup truck and the nose of my stock trailer when she tries to back up the trailer. What size shaft should I get to keep my truck from being damaged and still be able to tow my 16 foot stock trailer?

We can get you a ball mount with a longer shaft to help keep your trailer safe. Without knowing the rise or drop you need, or the weight capacity, I can only offer a couple of general recommendations for ball mounts with long shafts.

Since you have a trailer that utilizes a 2-5/16" hitch ball I assume it is on the heavier side so the best options are:

- 13-1/4" Long Shaft: Brophy Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 10,000 lb Capacity # BM20 and 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # C40007

- 11-3/8" Long Shaft: B&W Heavy-Duty Ball Mount - 3" Rise, 4" Drop - 16,000 lb Capacity # BWBMHD30013 and 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # BWHB94050
