Troubleshooting Running Lights with Curt Trailer Wiring Harness C56225 for 2009 Nissan Frontier
Question:
I purchased a wiring harness I think it was C56225 a couple of years ago for my 2006 Nissan Frontier and it worked fine until recently. I am getting no power for the parking or running lights. Brake and turn work fine. We tested and confirmed no power through the harness for these lights. I checked connections on harness and seemed tight. I was thinking it may be the relays but have not opened front panels or check connections there. What do you think I should do?

Thank you for taking the time to test for power at the harness; it does sounds like there may be an issue with the relays on your 2009 Nissan Frontier.
To troubleshoot the running lights, you can check the blue relays that were installed with the Curt T-Connector # C56225. Testing the relay won't be as easy as using a new one to determine if that was the problem causing the running lights not to work. The good news is that we do offer the blue relay separately as part # C57000. Another way is to test for power at wires right behind the factory connector, where the 4-pole Curt harness plugs into. With your running lights on, test each of the wires. If the blue relays are working properly, they should supply power to the running light circuit on the connector at the back.
Circuits that are tied to relays usually also have a fuse. There are 2 fuse panels in the Nissan Frontier. One is under the hood and the other is in the cab of the truck. You can also check both for any blown fuses.
