Is a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Pre-Wired for a Brake Controller

I am installing a Tekonsha proportional brake controller Code: 39510-3035-P with adapter 37185 on a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac equipped with a factory 4-pin flat connector. Your assistance is kindly requested to determine if this vehicle configuration includes a factory-installed wire to transmit the signal from the controller to the rear of the vehicle and that will be connected to the receptacle far easier and less time-intensive to use a pre-installed as opposed to having to snake a new wire. Two likely candidates for such a wire are visible: 1 black and 2 black with orange stripe. Both terminate between the spare tire and rear number/frame crossmember. Ibelieve that the black/orange has had a tag that says: “AUX CHMSL POWER.” Would be curious to know what this wire is for if not the electric brake signal. Your help with this will be greatly appreciated.

The Aux CHMSL power wire you've found is used for a 3rd brake lamp on a camper shell, and couldn't be used for the brake signal from a brake controller, I'm sorry to say. The Sprort Trac wasn't prewired in any way for a brake controller.

If you haven't already purchased the # 37185, it's included in the brake controller installation kit, part # ETBC7, which includes the aforementioned adapter, plus all the wire, circuit breakers and zip ties needed to complete the installation.

I've linked you to an installation video that will walk you through the brake controller install on a Explorer SportTrac. The video shows a different controller, but the procedure would be exactly the same for your brake controller.
