Will Tow Package Vehicle Wiring Harness 118247 Work on a 2005 Ford F-150 XL?
Question:
Could you tell me if this product will work with my 2005 F150 XL. I already have the factory 4 pin harness and want to add the 7 Pin. The information on the webpage says that this is for a 2004. If this does not work is there another way that I could do it? I woul rather not have to tap into wires if i do not have to. I would prefer to just plug harnesses together so that it remains as weather tight as factory If you could point me in the correct direction it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance,

Unfortunately, the part number you mention will not work with the 2005 F150. You'll have to use the 4 Pole to 7 Pole Adapter. Plug the existing 4-way into the adapter and attach the blue, black, and purple wires to the wires going into the connector on the driver's side frame rail. We have a Ford truck installation guide that shows how this is accomplished. I'll include a link below.
