Length Of Hanger For e54SR Leaf Spring On Home Made Trailer
Question:
if i want to use e54SR springs with this axle do i need to go with a 3 1/2 inch front hangar to obtain enough axle clearance or can i get away with a 1 1/2 inch Im building a landscape trailer and trying to keep it as low as possible

There is about 3-1/4" of space between the eye of the spring part # e54SR to the top of the lowest point of the spring. This is indicated by dimension D on the diagram I have attached. The height of the hanger you need really depends on the trailer axle diameter and the wheel size. I recommend to use Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double Eye Springs part # APT5 which will give you the proper amount of clearance with the axle and the e54SR spring. This kit includes 3-3/4" tall hangers. I recommend to take a look at the chart on the page that mentions the space for this kit and the e54SR spring you want.
