Installing a MORryde MR27ZR on a 2020 Grand Design With Oddly Shaped Hangers

Question:

I have 35” from the center of each wheel so I know which CRE3000 I need but my hanger is different then most trailers. I will include pics so you can see what I’m talking about. MORryde fit sheet says hanger must be 3” wide. Not sure if I can still use this or if there is another option they have for me? Is there another equalizer that would work for my set up? The stock equalizer appears to be about 7.5” long between the holes but it was hard to hold the tape measure and take pics at the same time. Also the equalizers I have on there now have #’s stamped on the back, not sure if that helps with anything?

The hangers you currently have on your trailer are ones I have run into before. That being said, I spoke with MORryde and the # MR27ZR will still fit your trailer, but there is a modification that will need to be made. You’ll have to trim according to the included diagram.

The top of the equalizer pivots on the bolt, which is why this clearance is necessary. The case of the # MR27ZR also has flanges on it to add additional strength. These flanges need clearance when pivoting around the hanger and this frame hanger set up is an exception. It doesn’t get you 3 inches of width as you can’t add material to the frame hanger, but MORryde said it can still work with less than 3 inches of width. It just needs to match the frame hanger as shown below that is marked up. You will be removing the section of material so that the parts can move properly.
