Hidden Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2019 Tesla Model 3
Question:
We are considering a Model 3 but need to solve the problem for our bicycle rack that requires a trailer hitch. This looks like a GREAT solution. Thank you for the great info, video, etc. I would go to a third party for the work, but would get them to watch the video before the took the job!. We are worried that this installation could void the warranty on the Telsa. Tesla service does not work on third-party products. Do you have any contract with Telsa support on this? Losing the warranty would be a show stopper and Im not getting much help from my local Tesla person. Im hoping you have more clout to get an answer. Thank you!

For your 2019 Tesla Model 3 the EcoHitch part # EH84GR is the correct fit and a really great choice. When not in use you can simply remove the hitch opening portion of it and it's totally out of sight. There aren't any other hitches out there that can do this so it's a really great hitch we recommend highly. It would not void the warranty either as long as it's installed correctly.
When you install an aftermarket part on your vehicle like a trailer hitch in this case, you are protected by the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act. This act states, in part, that unless the installation and the part caused a problem then the warranty cannot be voided. I recommend looking it up online.
I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well. The install isn't too difficult or involved so any local mechanic with a decent reputation would have no problem with it.
