Sturdy Roof Rack Recommendation for 2008 Chevy Cobalt

Question:

My car does not have tracks and Im wanting to have cross bars on it for a rack. It also does not have factory holes or anything to mount bars so Im wanting to go this route with tracks. The 55inch would work perfect if they will contour to my roof as I tighten them down. Curious if that will work?? If not can you help me out with some bars for my car that are heavy duty and not the cheap clamp on style? I need something sturdy. Thankyou

For a vehicle like your 2008 Chevy Cobalt I would not want to recommend a track style of rack as the best option. The tracks aren't going to flex enough to fit well and the clamp style racks are much sturdier than one might think so even though that's not the option you listed wanting it would be your overall best option still.

Rhino Rack does offer a heavy duty roof rack that fits your vehicle with the # RB1250, # RRRLKHD, and # DK181 if you have a sedan or part # DK182 for a coupe but I would recommend the aero bar version part numbers # RRVA118S-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK181 for a sedan or # DK182 for a coupe as it will be also very sturdy but since the bars are shaped more aerodynamically you'll get much better fuel mileage and minimized wind noise.
