Hello etrailer fans, Steven here. Today we're looking at our custom DK Fit Kit for your 4 Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Leg Kit for your Naked Roof. Now this is gonna be a custom fit kit. It's gonna let you mount four Rhino-Rack 2500 Series legs, sold separately, as you can see above my left shoulder there. And they basically will hook into the side of those legs and attach to your Naked Roof. Now zooming in here, I've got the part number listed up there for this particular kit that we're talking about.
You're gonna get the four rubber pads and the four door jam holders as well. So the fitting on these is very nice, very high metal steel here, powder coat construction. Very nice, very clean. You get two long ones and you're gonna get two shorter ones. Again, that's gonna grab the contour of your roof line.
It's gonna be a nice custom fit. Please check etrailer.com's Fit Guide and type in your year, make, and model to ensure you're getting the exact fit for your particular application. So again, these molded rubber pads are custom designed to fit the contour of your roof as well. They're gonna give you that nice hold, solid onto the roof and also protect your roof at the same time. Again, you're getting the four clamps and four pads.
They do have a limited lifetime warranty and again, they simply bolt onto the leg assemblies from Rhino-Rack's 2500 Series, and tighten 'em down for secure fit. These heavy-duty, aluminum crossbars work with Rhino-Rack legs to create a sturdy roof rack. The square bars include built-in C-channels for mounting Rhino-Rack heavy-duty, contractor-grade accessories.These are the perfect racks for a low profile mounting of solar panels on my Sprinter van.
The rack fit well and was easy to install. Seems to be made well. The problem is the amount of road noise. I never even put the basket on. It was so loud, it roared. I repositioned it several times but the noise was way too much and I finally just removed it. I spent a lot of money for the rack and the basket and now they are in storage. I wish it would have worked out better because I thought it looked really good.
This works great. Very strong and reliable. Holds my ladders with ease. I’ve had it loaded down and done 80mph on the highway no problem.
Ordered a Rhino Rack for my 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali. Rack arrived in very good shape and all items were there. Installing at this time and see no problems ahead.
Good quality and locks are included. The plastic lock covers are flimsy but they will keep an honest person honest.
The parts were all high quality and went together easily. It mounted easily and have it on our Honda Pilot with a Thule box. Box does sit farther forward than if on bars on factory rails. I did have one problem, We put it together per instructions which called for one distance between feet for our bar but this was to short. We found a sticker on the ox saying to use one of the other measurements and this worked fine. We hadn't buttoned it up with end caps etc. just in case so wasn't bad. I would have also liked an explanation by the bolts holding the bar on were only tightened so much. They seemed loose, may bar needs some give? anyway it looks good and seems to be up to the task. I have the rack on a 2019 slick top Pilot. Didn't want the rails and crossbars nor the expense and I look forward to having a slick roof come snow season when cleaning off the roof of snow as we park outside.
I originally just ordered the Rhino-Rack 2500 for my 2016 Honda Pilot and forgot it needed the Custom Fit pads and brackets. Once I had both on hand (shipping was extremely fast), it was extremely easy to install. Just follow the specific directions and watch video's if necessary, and you can't go wrong! It fits like a glove on my car and can easily handle the specified cargo weight. And it was less expensive than other "name brands". Like every other product I have purchased from eTrailer, it is of high quality and the service is fantastic.
This kit is easy to slap on and sturdy enough to balance my skis and snowboards. I recently used the Rhino Rack on a three hour drive to a ski resort and had no issues.
This rack works perfectly on my Nissan Versa for carrying my two Perception Sound 9'6" kayaks. The Rhino-Racks look good to me. The kayaks can rest directly on the rubber pads on the rails, unlike the Yakama racks I had in the past that had bare pipe rails. Also, I expect I can buy parts to adapt this product to a different car without having to buy new towers. I am sorry there are not hooks or loops to attach bungees when carrying lumber. They are noisy in the wind, but less so when carrying the kayaks.
I purchased this because I needed 11" brackets and I only needed two to add to my existing setup. Other manufacturers (I could only find one) only sold packs of four at a ridiculously high price. My Rhino Rack mounts and bar arrived within a few days of my order and appear very sturdy and well made. I bought them to add a third support for an awning and a solar shower on the roof of my van. I think I found the perfect solution.
This is my second Rhino-Rack. They go on very easily and hold the bikes/kayaks and even an extension ladder very well....thanks for a great product
Two items I received surprised me when I unpacked the box were the rails because they were not black like I saw in the picture, and the rubber insert that I am having a hard time sliding in the rail. Should this rubber insert have come already installed in the rail or is there a top on how to put in with ease?
The way the bolts fasten to the bracket is kind of a pain. The nut end of the mechanism keeps falling out, which for short folks is a pain in the you know what. The system works well, but install can be a pain.
I ordered this roof rack system to transport pole vault poles with a 2017 Honda Pilot. The rack is easy to assemble and install. Well balanced for bag with 10 poles. Very, very, very quiet. This review is after our first trip with speeds up to 80 mph. Will see how it does over time. Very pleased so far.

Great product everything fit perfectly. With the heavy duty bars almost all the hardware for anything you put on the rack is too short
I got the roof rack mounted anyways. Better pics to come when it's all finished!
Overall built quality of this Rihno-Rack 2500 series is great. I really like the way it looks on my 3rd generation Honda Pilot.
Time will tell in terms of durability, but, in terms of customer support & product availability & fit & installation A+

Rock solid with over 120 pounds on them daily, 1 year later.
I have not taken them off since the day I installed them. They are still pretty steady, the color has not faded. Good purchase.
