Why is a Stabilizing Strap Recommended on Curt Hitches and what is Meant by Non-Trailer Load
Question:
What is meant by stabilizing straps for non-trailer loads?
asked by: James
Expert Reply:
Non-trailer loads are hitch accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers. Basically anything that is not a trailer that you could put on a hitch. Curt recommends you use a Curt Trailer Hitch Support Strap # 18050 to help prevent excessive jarring on the hitch from bumps.
Basically you will attach one of the strap to the hitch accessory and the other end to the trunk lid of your vehicle and the support will help brace the setup to prevent excessive jarring of your hitch setup.
Check out the link I attached that will take you to a different question and answer that has a video of the # 18050 being demonstrated.
