Will the Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer Work On a Factory Trailer Hitch

Question:

Good morning, and Happy New Year! Im wondering if youve had anyone inquire about whether the 63080 Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Silencer and Cover for 2” hitches might possibly fit an Honda OEM 2inch receiver hitch that is mounted on a 2016 Honda Pilot EXL AWD? I had to go with the Honda OEM hitch due to clearance problems, as I had purchased a Curt hitch and mounted it on the Pilot, but it hung down too low and I had issues when pulling our Little Guy 5X10 Silver Shadow camper trailer. I do have some slop in the ball mount when pulling the camper or anything else ed into the hitch, and have been using a piece of aluminum sheet metal formed to fit under the ball mount when ed into the hitch, but would like to go with something that would do exactly what the 63080 advertises to eliminate the play when the ball mount is ed. Is there any way to somehow test this on the OEM hitch on your end? I do realize that some hitch manufacturers produce products for other brands, and am wondering if Draw-Tite might have done this for the Honda hitches? Ive also got a Blue Ox hitch stabilizer on the 2inch receiver hitch on the stern of the Little Guy camper, where I have my spare tire mounted on a carrier. If you are able to verify fitment on the Honda OEM receiver, Id also like to test the 63080 stabilizer on the camper to see if that would fit, as it would definitely make life easier for me to remove the tire carrier when setting up camp I have mounted a piece of receiver tubing on the tongue of the camper, and move the spare tire from the rear to this tube to allow opening the rear clamshell hatch to access the kitchen area. Due to the confined space where the tire carrier s into the hitch on the camper, it would be nice to be able to just flip a lever and loosen the mount to remove it instead of undoing the 4 nuts on the Blue Ox. Or, is it possible to modify the metal strapfoot that is welded onto the hitch where the 63080 slides horizontally onto to make it fit? I do have the ability to grind it down to allow the 63080 to slide onto the hitch. If you have any further questions to ask me, please feel free to do so! Im anxious to hear your response. If it does fit on the vehicle hitch, Ill also see if it fits onto the trailers hitch, and would gladly wind up getting 2 of the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Silencer and Cover for 2” hitches if they fit! Thank you for your time!

I do have an option for you but there would be no way for me to confirm the Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer part # 63080 will work with a factory trailer hitch as it is designed especially for the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receivers. That said, if I had to guess I would say no as the collar must be an exact match. However, I do have a similar option in the Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp part # GY88XR. The Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp like the Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer works to reduce play with the shank inside the receiver tube. However, unlike the Blue Ox Hitch Receiver Immobilizer part # BX88224 you don't have to undo any bolts each time. Furthermore, the Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp helps align the shank each time as it gets left installed on the ball mount.
