Can a Trailer Brake Controller be Added to 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 With Factory Tow Package

I was told that you can not install a aftermarket trailer brake assist to a 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500. It has a trailer package but not the integrated trailer braking system. Can a brake assist be installed on this vehicle? Thank you.
