Will Sliding Fifth Wheel Hitch Fit on Base Rails Used For a Curt E5 Fixed Fifth Wheel Hitch

Question:

Hi, Ive got a regular Curt E16 5th wheel hitch at the moment, will a sliding hitch sit in the existing bed rails?

Expert Reply:

As long as the brand of sliding hitch is Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese, Valley and Husky. Those brands will interchange on the same base rails that are used for your Curt E5 fixed hitch.

The Curt E5 16K Fifth Wheel Hitch with Roller, part # 16516, you have referenced, will interchange if you are using the Curt fixed hitch currently on your truck.

If you will be using the slider hitch on an 8-foot truck bed you will want to lock the slider in place to keep it from sliding. A slider hitch is designed to be used on truck beds that are 6-foot to 8-foot in length.

I am including a link to a FAQ page on fifth wheel information.

If you want to let me know your vehicle and fifth wheel information and what you are trying to do, I will be glad to help you with any other information you might need.
