I used a search engine to look up the online owner's manual for a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 with 4WD and it states on page 4-47, after shifting the transfer case in neutral and releasing the parking brake to "Turn the ignition to LOCK/OFF and remove the key - the steering wheel will still turn." Here are the parts you will need to flat tow your 2009 Silverado 1500:

- Base Plate Kit: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # 3154-3
- Tow Bar: Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520
- Safety Chains: Roadmaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643
- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
- Supplemental Braking System: SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251
OR
- If your motor home has air brakes: SMI Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for Motor Homes with Air Brakes # SM99243

You may also need a high-low adapter in order to keep your Silverado level, and I've added a link to a help article which shows you how to determine if you need an adapter, as well as a link to our selection of adapters. Additionally, I have added links to instruction manuals, video reviews and installations for you to take a look at.
