I have a hitch solution for your vehicle, but the Curt Class II Trailer Hitch, # C12225, will not fit your 2012 Ford Fusion. Instead, you will want to get the Draw-Tite Sportframe Class I Trailer Hitch, # 24865. We have installed this trailer hitch on a 2012 Ford Fusion so I linked the video and installation instructions for you to check out.
If you are looking to do some light towing with your vehicle, then you will also want the T-One Wiring Harness, # 118422, ball mount, # 3594, 1-7/8 inch hitch ball, # 19256, or 2 inch hitch ball, # 19258, and a pin and clip, # PC2. All of these items will complete your towing set up.
I have attached a video of the wiring harness being installed on a 2010 Ford Fusion which is similar to your vehicle. The installation process will be the same.
