Hey there I'm trying to verify if the heat shield gets removed on my 2020 Ford Edge to install the Draw-tite hitch 75234 can you tell me? Thank you.

The heat shield might need to be removed on your 2020 Ford Edge when installing the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75234, depending on your specific model. The installation instructions at the end of Step 1 state that on Sport and MKX AWD models, the heat shields/panels do need to be removed and they won't be re-attached after the hitch is in place.
Even if you do have the Sport or MKX model you don't have to worry about this removal having any effect on the vehicle, as the hitch itself will take its place and serve as the shield once its mounted. I have attached the full installation instructions below that you can check out as well.
