When Installing Hopkins Trailer Wiring in 2019 Subaru Crosstrek Does Exhaust Need to be Avoided

do I need to be concerned about keeping the wiring away from the muffler tail pipe due to heat issues. there is nothing in the video about routing the wire from the access hole in the trunk to the bumper near the hitch.

You do want to make sure that the 4-way wiring of the # HM11143865 does not get close to the exhaust as it could potentially melt and damage it if so. This isn't covered in the attached install video as the exhaust is far enough away that our installer didn't feel it was important to make this warning but you'd need to use your best judgment.
