Wiring a Trailer with a 7 Pole Plug to a RV with a 4 Pole Plug
Question:
I have a 2000 Pase Arrow Rv. I want to pull a car hauler trailor. Currenly the wiring harness on the rv wired for a four pole plug. My Trailor is wired for 7 pole round plug. What do i need to wire my rv to used trailor. my trailor has electric brakes. Thanks

You will need to install a Brake Controller in your RV to actuate the brakes on your trailer. In addition to the Controller, you will also need the 7-Way Installation Kit # ETBC7. The existing 4-Way connector on your RV would plug into the 7-Way connector included in the Installation Kit. The brake controller will have 4 leads, black, white, red, and blue. The black wire would run to the positive battery terminal via a circuit breaker included in the kit, the white wire would run to the negative battery terminal, the blue wire would run back to the trailer connector, and the red wire would attach to the brake stoplight switch located at the top of the brake pedal. This wire would need to tap into the wire that shows current only when the brake pedal is pressed, you'll need a circuit tester to verify this connection.
