Best Way to Carry Spare Tire on 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500
Question:
Hello. I have a 2019 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 3500 standard bumper and looking for a good way to transport my spare tire - thinking of adding a hitch (could then use it for something else down the line too) and a carrier for it. Can you recommend a good setup for this? Thank you!

Adding a trailer hitch and hitch-mounted carrier is a great way to safely transport the spare tire on your 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500.
Starting with the trailer hitch I recommend the Cut Class III # C13388 that gives you plenty of tongue weight capacity for the spare (600 pounds), will line right up to existing holes in the frame rails for a bolt-on (no-drill) installation, and features a superior black powder coat finish that won't flake off over time like those from other manufacturers. All the needed hardware is included.
I have attached the written installation manual below that you can also check out.
Then for a hitch-mounted spare tire carrier I highly recommend the Roadmaster # RM-195225. This will slide into the 2" hitch receiver and its unique pivot mechanism allows the vertical upright (with the spare still mounted) to tilt down to the ground so you can maintain rear door access on the Sprinter. I have attached a demonstration video so you can see exactly how it works.
