How To Install a 4-Way Trailer Harness On a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado
Question:
so as I understand it the 4 pin plug would still require a tail light controller to work . I have a 2019 Chevy Colorado WT and I will need to tow a small trailer with just a 4 pin connection.

In order to install a 4-way trailer connector on your 2019 Chevrolet Colorado I recommend using the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness part # HM11141164 which plugs in behind your taillights and is the only option we have for you that will not require splicing. This harness does come with a powered module that connects to the battery and offers circuit protection for your Colorado but a converter box is not needed as the vehicle already has combined taillight circuits.
