Can the Curt MV 600 LB Weight Distribution System Be Upgraded

Question:

Question, is the difference between these to setups just the spring bars? can these be purchases separately? I ask because I have a trailer with about 400lb tongue weight and would like to be able to tow with and without a 300lb motorcycle in the back of my bed and use weight distribution systems in both setups. most of the bikes weight is behind the rear axle on my short bed Tacoma setup to tow with the tailgate down. I currently purchased the C17050 system with the extended hitch C17122, but am wondering if I shouldve went with the C17051. But, for those times that I do not bring the bike along the C17051 may be overkill. What do you think? do you guys suggest maybe air bags to help compensate for changes like this in the bed or would I be able to simply purchase a set of the heavier spring bars and have two setups for towing? also, during installation in the directions I got to Step 3 Install the 1/2inch - 13 x 3 3/4inch bolt #16 into the threaded hole in the lift bracket. Turn the bolt in until it contacts the trailer tongue, then tighten a 1/4 turn with a wrench. Do not overtighten. later in directions I see it says Tighten 1/2inch head attachment bolts to 75 ft. lbs. torque. Failure to tighten bolts may result in fastener loss or failure. the only 1/2inch bolts in this setup are these lift bracket bolts that it says do not overtighten is this torque actually referring to this bolt? thank you for your help.

The springs bars are the only difference between the Curt MV Weight Distribution Systems part # C17050 and part # C17051 and these are available separately so you can purchase two of the Replacement Spring Bar part # C17072 and then be set when you are towing with your motorcycle in the truck bed. The addition of airbags should not be needed.

In regards to installation, the head attachment bolts used to be 1/2" but they are now 3/4" and that is what this is referring to so please disregard the note, "Tighten 1/2" head attachment bolts to 75 ft. lbs. torque." on page 4 of the instructions.
