Which Wire on Truck 7-Way is Used for Reverse Lights for Truck Camper
Question:
Hi - Im trying to correct the wiring so that my backup lights on the camper are not on all the time. Everything else is working correctly, they just illuminate whenever I have my truck lights on. Can anyone confirm which wires I need to switch up? My thought is that the aux 12v power and backups are crossed somehow. any help is appreciated!

It sounds like the backup lights on your camper are tied to the running lights on your truck 7-Way. What you need to do to get them working correctly is connect them to the circuit that is for the middle pin on a typical 7-Way (see attached photo).
Even though this is the typical wiring configuration it wouldn't hurt to make sure that the middle pin on your 7-Way is indeed carrying the reverse light function by using a circuit tester like part # PTW2979 to see if that pin gets hot when you put your truck in reverse.
