Can I Carry 2009 Yamaha R6 Using a Motorcycle Carrier on 2007 Hummer H3
Question:
I was wondering if I can haul a 2009 Yamaha R6 with a wet weight of 417lbs, with a 2007 Hummer H3. Most likely without the rear tire. Or what would be the best option for this type of bike. Thanks!

What you will first want to check is the tongue weight capacity of both the hitch and your 2007 Hummer H3. There should be a small plate or sticker that indicates the hitch capacity and tongue weight capacity on the hitch, you should not exceed it. The vehicle tongue weight capacity will be listed in the vehicle owners manual.
To use the a motorcycle carrier, like the Ultra-Fab # UF48-979033, you should have a Class III hitch, like the Draw-Tite # 75382, which will fit your 2007 H3.
Tongue weight is the downward force or weight exerted on the hitch. Whenever carrying weight right at the hitch with carriers such as the Ultra-Fab, this weight is considered tongue weight.
You will also need to measure the overall width of the tires on your R6. The width of the track on the Rage Carrier measures 5 inches.
The carrier weighs approximately 45 pounds, so the weight of the bike plus the carrier will put the total weight right under 500 pounds. I would recommended weighing your R6 to get the actual weight of the bike.
The other issue would have been clearance from the spare tire, but since the spare will be removed, you should have plenty of clearance.
