High Low Adapter for Flat Towing 2019 Honda Civic SI that Needs 7 inches of Drop
Question:
I want to tow a 2019 Civic Si using a 2018 24 foot Forest River RV. I need to the receiver hitch by 7 inches in order to achieve a level tow. My Civic Si weight is 3200 pounds and my RV trailer hitch is limited to weight distributing max trailer weight of 4200 pounds and weight carrying of 4200 pounds. Also, the hitch has a max torque of weight distributing of 420 pounds and weight carrying capacity of 350 pounds. If I purchase a dual hitch adapter to create a level or near level pull, 1 can I safely flat tow my car and 2 is the integrity of my RV hitch, tow bar, or dual hitch adapter? Any recommendations to make this scheme work safely?

Expert Reply:
We have an adapter that fits your needs exactly with the Blue Ox part # BX88241. This was designed for flat towing applications like yours where 7 inches of drop is needed to allow the tow bar to set as level as possible. This will not reduce the weight capacity of your trailer hitch in any way either.
I also attached a help article link that covers picking out the correct high/low adapter as well.
