Hi there I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the tailor-made replacement D sponge gasket. This is going to attach to your hatch, make sure that it seals nicely. You're not going to have to worry about any water getting in the inside of your boat. You can see where it gets its name. It looks like a D.
You got the flat side here and then the half round edge there. It is a very spongy material so it will make a nice tight seal. This is specifically designed for the tailor-made hatch for model years, 1990 through 1993, specifically. To get this installed, you'll just take off this adhesive backing here. Just peel that off.
It'll have adhesive on the gasket itself. Lay that out on the surface as you need it.Now for our measurements. It's going to be kind of hard to see because they are so fine but the total height of our gasket, it's going to be right about 13, 30 seconds, or just under seven sixteenths of an inch when I measured it with my calipers a moment ago. It is right about half an inch wide. So you can see there.
And you are going to get exactly seven feet. Just measured this just so I don't have to unroll the whole thing. You won't be able to see both ends on camera. So it is seven feet long so it should do a good job sealing up your hatch, making sure you don't get any water in it. Replacing that old worn out gasket.
That's going to complete our look at the tailor-made replacement D sponge gasket.

Foam can be cut to fit the dimensions of your hatch opening.I had to replace the gaskets on the deck hatches on my 1975 boat. They were totally dried out, rotted and crumbling. Scanning the internet I came across Taylor Made. I bought just one to test the gasket. A large consideration was the length was 7 feet. Cleaning out the old was not hard and installing the new gasket was very easy. With two days of steady rain the seal did not leak at all. So today, I ordered the second length I needed to complete the job with the second hatch.
With the gasket leaks eliminated I was able to pinpoint other sources of leaks, which are cracks in the plexiglass around the fastening screws from overtightening by previous owners and also stripped screws in the aluminum
It did the job
Great product and great service from retailer I highly recommend them
