Best Way to Transport 3 Bikes with 2019 Toyota Prius
Question:
HI-Trying to get a 3 bike hitch bike rack for a new 2019 Prius LE AWD. Do you have a recommended hitch for this new Prius, and if so, is it still limited to 2 bikes? previous answers have stated that the Prius only have a class 1 hitch which is limited to 2 bikes. I know that the hatch alternative is the Yakima fullback. Thanks.

The available trailer hitches for your 2019 Toyota Prius, the Curt # C11473 and the Draw-Tite # 24966, are both Class I hitches. As you mentioned in your question, a Class I hitch can only safely handle up to 2 bikes when using a rack. This has more to do with the leverage of an additional bike further out from the rear of the vehicle and hitch than with the actual added weight.
Because of this, your best option for transporting 3 bikes is indeed with the trunk-mounted Yakima FullBack # Y02633 that is confirmed to fit the 2019 Prius. This is a really nice carrier that will secure all 3 of your bikes (as long as they are each 35 pounds or less) and its SuperCush anti-sway cradles with ratcheting straps will hold them at 3 different points for a really stable ride. Locks are also included to secure everything in place and help to protect your investments.
I have attached a video demonstration that you can check out as well.
If you happen to have any children's, women's, or alternative frame bikes you might also need an adapter bar like the Kuat # UB01. This will provide a horizontal attachment point for level transport and improved ground clearance. I have included a short video on this bar so you can see exactly how it's used and why it might be needed.
