Installation of an aftermarket trailer hitch or any other part will not void the warranty as consumers are protected by the Magnuson-Moss warranty act that states, in part, unless the part added actually causes a problem, then installation and use of the part will not void the warranty.
With that being said, there is a hitch for the Toyota RAV4 that requires less modification than the others. Most of the hitches available for the RAV4 require fascia, under body panel trimming or removing panels. I did find your owner's manual and it says Toyota Warranties do not apply to damage or malfunction caused by towing a trailer. You may want to look at your owner's manual to see what your copy says.
The Curt Class II hitch part # C12108 is the only hitch available for your vehicle that does not require trimming or panel removal. The only component that needs to be removed during installation is the tie down hook but it can easily be put back on. This Curt hitch is rated for 350 lbs tongue weight. I have attached an installation video.
For wiring I recommend Tekonsha T-One wiring harness part # 118578 because it has the highest amp capacity. The Tekonsha can handle more amps so it does a better job of protecting the wiring in the Toyota from overloading.
For a ball mount you need a Class II ball mount for the Class II Curt Hitch. I have attached a link of the Class II ball mounts we carry. You want to tow within 2 inches of level with the trailer. To determine what rise or drop you need requires taking some measurements. I have attached an article that tells you how to measure for rise or drop.
