Are 1,700 lb Spring Bars Right for Camper Trailer With 1,400 lb Dry Tongue Weight

Question:

I just purchased a camper with a dry tongue weight of 1390 pounds my Reese weight distribution hitch has 1500 pound spring bars are those heavy enough for the camper or do I need to move up to the 1700 pound spring bars?

Thanks for being so specific and I can safely say you will need spring bars with a higher capacity because a loaded trailer will add enough to that tongue weight to make the 1,500 lb bars you have not rated highly enough.

For a camper trailer with a 1,390 lb dry tongue weight the 1,700 lb Reese Replacement Trunnion Spring Bar # 66010 is highly likely to be exactly what you need. I have added a link to a video review for you to take a look at as well.
