Weight Rating for Reese Trunnion Spring Bar RP58369 for Strait-Line Weight Distribution

Question:

I just purchased a new travel trailer. I believe my trunnion bars are not up to the task. Could you advise on the correct bars. I am also going to add the sway cams

I would need to know what your current system is rated for and the total tongue weight of the trailer to determine which spring bars would be the best option. Total tongue weight is calculated by taking the trailer tongue weight, loaded and ready to tow, and adding the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.

The 1500 pound spring bar, # RP58369, is rated for 800 to 1,500 pounds tongue weight when used as a pair (they are sold in quantities of 1). If your total tongue weight falls within that range then a pair of these bars are the way to go.
