How to Pick Out Leaf Springs for 2003 Colorado 27RL Trailer

Question:

I broke a spring and want to replace all 4 springs on my tandem axle trailer. I was told that because I have tandem axles 33inch on center, I need a 25.1/4inch spring. Is that true? Also its a 1.3/4inch wide, 4 leaf spring and from the broshures I have been able to gather online, believe they are on 7,000lb axles. Also, do they have kitsinch including bushings, bolts and such?

Axle spacing doesn't always guarantee an exact spring length since the equalizers could be different lengths too which would throw this off. What we need to do is first determine the axle capacity of your trailer. You can pretty easily check this by looking at the VIN plate on the trailer and the axle capacity will be listed there and then measuring the length of your springs when the axle doesn't have any weight on it from spring eye to spring eye.

With those two pieces of info I can help you pick out what you'd need. For example, we have the part # e64SR which is for a 7,000 lb axle and measures 24-7/8 inches in length.
