I recommend Curt Class III Round Tube Receiver Hitch part # 13138 to fit the 2007 Ford Ranger with 16 inch spare tire. The Curt Trailer hitch is designed to fit around the spare tire and the installation does not require the spare tire to be removed temporarily. I have attached a photo to show how it installs around the spare tire and an installation video of the hitch on a Ford Ranger.

I recommend Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C55774 if the Ranger needs wiring and has a factory tow package. The Curt T-Connector plugs into the factory tow package plug and gives you a 7-way and 4-pole connector on the Ranger.

If the Ranger needs wiring and does not have a factory tow package I recommend Hopkins Plug-in Simple Wiring Harness part # HM40655. The Hopkins wiring harness plugs in behind the tail lights of the Ranger and gives you a 4-pole flat connector.

There is about 16 inches from the top of the Curt Hitch receiver opening to the ground on a standard Ford Ranger without a lift or lowering kit. If your trailer coupler sits higher than 15 inches then you need a ball mount with a rise. If the bottom of the coupler sits lower than 15 inches you need a ball mount with a drop. I have attached a link for the selection of ball mounts we offer.
