Is the 17/32 Drill Bit Absolutely Necessary for Installation of Draw-Tite Hitch # 75992?
Question:
Someone explained it took a while to find a 17/32inch drill bit. I cant find one locally and wonder if most people are using this or are they finessing a 1/2 bit. I dont want to have to order one and wait a week or so.

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75992 does state to use a 7/16 inch drill bit in the instructions. This is engineers helping with installation instructions for precision but you are correct most people will use a 1/2 inch bit or use a Dremel tool to slightly enlarge it. We reference this at the 5:35 mark of the attached video we used a 1/2 inch drill bit for installation.
