Is a Hitch Extender Compatible with Hitch On Back of 2019 Grand Design 260 Reflection and Bike Rack?
Question:
Is this hitch adaptor rated for use on a fifth wheel camper? 2019 Grand Design 260RD Reflection fifth wheel. 3000# tow weight on factory installed hitch with a 300# tongue weight. Weight of bike carrier and 2 bikes is 120#

Hitch extenders like the Brophy # HE06 are not tested for RV use but are also not restricted from that use. As long as you are within the limits of the hitch tongue weight when you reduce the tongue weight by 50% using the extension, you will be good to go. The Brophy # HE06 will reduce the 300 lb factory hitch tongue weight to 150 lbs, so your bike carrier and 2 bikes at 120 lbs will work. You will have more movement due to the adapter so I recommend using a hitch immobilizer like # BX88224 to give you as much stability as possible.
You will want to make sure your bike rack is compatible with use on the back of your 5th wheel as many bike rack manufacturers will only allow this with certain racks. I've linked the page to all the bike rack options we carry compatible with that use to assist.
