Using a Hitch Extender with a Bike Rack
Question:
What kind of hardwer will I need to attach it to my hitch? Does it come with everythinh I need, or I have to purchase it separate? What else do I need to make attaching my bike rack more safe and secure?

Expert Reply:
The Brophy Hitch Extender, # HE06, comes as pictured. You will need a hitch pin and clip like # PC3 or a hitch pin receiver lock like # e98880 to secure the extender. If you want safety and security you will need a receiver lock on both the extender and the bike rack. You may also want to purchase a security cable to secure your bikes to the rack. This cable would run through the frames of the bikes and around the hitch or through the safety cable attachment on the hitch to secure the bikes to the vehicle. Please Note: Using a hitch extender will reduce your hitch's overall capacity by half. This means that your bike rack and bikes cannot exceed 1/2 of the hitch's tongue capacity.
