Compatibility of Inflatable Boat with Aluminum Bottom with Malone MicroSport Jon Boat Trailer

Question:

What is the max bunk width setting for this trailer I have 12.5 inflatable boat with aluminum floor that’s 5.58 feet wide. Am I going to be modifying this much?

The USA-made Malone MicroSport Jon Boat Trailer # MPG461JB has the 13-foot boat length and 900-lb weight capacity to accommodate your inflatable. The detail photo included shows the rear bunk board mounts which can be slid along the rear rail to the desired position. The front rail mounts are similarly adjustable.

You might prefer to replace the bunks boards themselves with wider ones you can fabricate yourself using locally-sourced lumber and our marine grade bunk carpet # CE11349 which is an 18-inch x 18-foot roll. This would put more material under the boat's aluminum floor to distribute its weight across more surface area. Since the bunk bracket height is also adjustable you could position them at the same height you choose for the bow roller, which would support the front of the boat's floor.

If you can send along some photos of your boat and/or provide specific year/make/model details that will help me work with Malone's team to confirm if you would need to make modifications for the best fit with your inflatable. Based on the details you provided I see no reason why this cost-effective trailer will not work well for you.
