What fits my 19 CX3 to tow a trailer? What do I need?

The best hitch option for your 2019 Mazda CX3 is Curt hitch part # C11418. Both the Draw-Tite and Curt option for the Mazda are Class I options and can handle up to 200 lbs of tongue weight. I recommend the Curt hitch because installation takes less time compared to the Draw-Tite option. The Curt hitch hardware is easier to access when it is time to torque down the bolts during installation. I have attached an installation video of the Curt hitch on a 2017 Mazda CX-3.
The Curt option is a concealed cross tube hitch so only the receiver portion of the hitch is visible after installation. The recommended Class I ball mount for the Curt hitch is part # C45521 because of its rise. Since the Mazda does sit closer to the ground you will most likely need a ball mount with a rise but it is important to be within 2 inches of level with the trailer you are pulling. I have attached a help article to help you figure out how much rise you need.
If you ever plan on using the hitch with a bike rack or accessory such as a cargo carrier, Curt does require the use of a stabilization strap part # 18050. The stabilization strap prevents the bike rack or accessory from bouncing around when on the road. If a stabilization strap is not used it will void the hitch's warranty.
The wiring you need is Tekonsha 4-pole flat part # 118718. I recommend the Tekonsha compared to the Curt wiring harness because the Tekonsha harness can handle more amps per circuit. The Tekonsha wiring harness plugs into the vehicle's wiring harness located in the rear cargo area of the Mazda on the drivers and passengers side. The Modulite box that comes with the wiring harness allows the trailer lights to be powered without overloading the vehicle's electrical system. The Modulite powers the trailer's lights by drawing power from the vehicle's battery. The black power wire needs to be connected to the positive side of the battery. I have attached a help article on running the power wire from the modulite box to the battery.
