What Bumper and Fascia Trimming is Required for Curt Class I Trailer Hitch on 2019 Honda Civic

Question:

How does this look after installation is completed? Is the bumper cover or related parts trimmed or the metal bumper under the cover?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C92UR has a clean look once it is installed.

According to the linked instructions you will need to slightly trim the bumper and the fascia. I have attached a copy of the installation instructions and an installation video to help you see what is required.

If you let me know what you will be using this for on the 2019 Honda Civic that you input for your vehicle, I can make additional recommendations as necessary.

Jon, I have a 2020 Honda Civic Hatchback. I am very concerned about having the bumper and fascia trimmed to get this installed correctly. Is this going to look good or is it going to ruin the look of my brand new car? Thanks

I definitely understand the hesitance to start cutting into a brand new vehicle. I honestly don't think the required trimming takes anything away from the Civic's appearance (this isn't always the case with vehicles that require this). The opening kind of gets hidden on the underside of the fascia, and is taken up by the drop tube on the hitch. We have a few good closeups of the hitch installed on the product page, along with a full install video that you can check out as well, which should get you more comfortable as to what it's going to look like.
