The light on the Hopkins Brake-Force Brake Controller part 47225 will never be completely green. It will turn to varying degrees of orange as the brake pedal is pressed and power is applied. The light orange light (see photo) is the minimal setting and the bright orange light (see photo) delivers the greatest power. I think you may be confusing the light orange light with a green light and if so then this is not an issue. It simply represents that you have your brake controller set to a lower power output. If you do not feel the brake controller is setup to adequately stop your trailer then you can increase the output by using the "+/-" buttons on the upper left hand side of the controller. This will then cause the light to turn a darker orange color. If you do feel the brake controller is setup to adequately stop your trailer then no further adjustments will be needed.
The correct plug-in brake controller adapter for your 2006 Ford F-350 is the Hopkins Plug-in Simple Brake Wiring Adapter part # HM47735.
