Which Trailer Hitch Will Fit a 2012 Ford Edge Sport
Question:
What is the reason this cant be used on the Edge Sport model? If it the rear facia interference meaning the bumper cover would need to be cut for clearance? Im a autoshop owner/ mechanic who can do fabrication, just want to see what the reason was before purchasing. Thanks in advance.

I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite and he said that the ground effects/rear fascia on a 2012 Ford Edge Sport prevent hitch # 75992 from fitting properly. I do have a trailer hitch that fits the sport model. It does require some trimming but not any extra trimming other than what is specified in the instructions.
Take a look at the CURT Trailer Hitch # C13067. I confirmed with CURT that it will fit the 2012 sport model. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view. If you plan on doing some towing I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit, # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a carrying bag.
For trailer wiring, use Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118515. I have included a link to the installation details for you.
