Expert Reply:
The maximum conventional towing capacity of your 1999 Ford F-350 is 5,000 lbs at the bumper and 10,000 lbs at the trailer hitch. If you are looking to tow under 5,000 lbs then all you would need is a hitch ball like the 2" Hitch Ball part # 40038 or the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball part # C40007. However, if you looking to tow in excess of 5,000 lbs then you would need a frame mount trailer hitch like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15316 which is a custom fit that provides you with a 2" receiver tube opening.
In order to activate any lights on the trailer you would most likely need either a 4 or 7-way connector. If the vehicle came with a 4-way but you need a 7-way then you can use the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C55243. If the vehicle came with neither a 4 or 7-way you can use the Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C58044 to add a 4-way and the Curt 7-Way RV part # C57186 to add a 7-way which also comes with everything you need to add a brake controller.
