How to Wire a 2013 Chevy Silverado 3rd Brake Light For a Camper Top

Question:

How do you wire a 2013 Silverado 3rd brake light on a camper top? I saw this question asked but im not sure where to go once Ive located the wire under the dash. Am I running a wire all the way into the cab from the cargo taillight? Can I not just tap into the trailer wiring?

Once you have located the Center High Mount Stop Light wire (labeled as CHMSL) under your driver's side dash of your 2013 Chevrolet Silverado (bundled with your brake controller wiring) you will need to run wire from the cab of your Silverado to the wiring for the 3rd brake light on your camper top.

The trailer wiring is closer but the problem with tapping into the trailer wiring is that your brake signal is carried with your left and right turn signals as well. If you were to tap into this wiring your camper top brake light would flash with whichever turn signal you spliced into. We do carry the Pacer Performance Logic Module # PP20-702 which separates the turn and stop signals if you did want to go this route.

The installation instructions for this unit have been linked for you to check out.
