Replacement Anti-Rattle Hitch Bolt for Yakima 4-Bike Hitch Rack

Question:

I need the pin to secure my 4 bike Yakima rack to my receiver. Does this pin secure the rack to the hitch receiver? Essentially is it the receiver pin? My bike rack wobbles from side to side with my existing hitch pin.

Helpful Expert Reply:

Hitch bike racks typically use a special proprietary threaded anti-rattle pin to remove excess play and sometimes to also lock the rack to the hitch. Usually these threaded locking anti-rattle bolts are specific to the particular bike rack model you happen to have. The part you referenced # Y90175 is for a rack's tilting function, not for securing it in the hitch.

All such anti-rattle parts appear on the linked page, such as part # Y8890200 which fits their 4-bike Big Horn racks made between 2000 and 2003.

You can submit photos of your rack (both of the overall rack and of the shank part) if you are not sure which rack you have.
