Brake Controller Recommendations for a 2003 GMC Sierra

I have a 2003 GMC sierra pickup. It came with a factory towing package. MY Question is do I need to add a brake controller to control my camper trailer with electric brakes.

Yes, you will need a brake controller to operate your trailer brakes. For your 2003 GMC Sierra, our most popular brake controller is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. You will also need the Brake Controller Wiring Adpater, part # 3015-P. One end of the Adapter plugs into the Prodigy, the other end plugs into the installation port located on the firewall behind the emergency brake pedal. For your convenience, I will provide a link to our GM Truck Brake Controller Install Guide. This Guide includes helpful photos that show the location of the installation port.
I'll also link you to an install video showing a controller being installed on a 2003 Silverado. The video shows a different brake controller, but the installation would be identical to that of your truck.
