What is the Pin Weight Capacity of a 2015 Ram 2500

Question:

I am trying to figure out the 5th wheel hitch weight capability of our 2015 Ram 2500. We currently have a 5th wheel with a hitch weight of 2100 lbs. and would like to know if that is to much for the truck.

The pin weight which is the same as hitch weight but for a 5th wheel and gooseneck trailer cannot exceed either the payload capacity or the gross axle weight rating (GAWR) on your 2015 Ram 2500. I do have access to the payload and (GAWR) figures for a 2015 Ram 2500 but they vary drastically depending on factors such as cab type, bed length, drive type, engine size, transmission, and axle ratio so I can't give you a yes or no answer but I have sent you an article which lists all these capacities and you can use it once you have the above info.

I will however say that a 2,100 lb pin weight is dobale for most of the 2015 Ram 2500's. In order to a tow a 5th wheel trailer you will need a 5th wheel hitch and rail kit if you do not have the factory prep package. If you do have the factory prep package then I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch part # BWRVK3600 for long beds or part # BWRVK3670 fo short beds. If you don't have the the factory prep package then I recommend the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # BWRVK3500-5W with the Custom Underbed Installation Kit part # BWGNRK1384-5W for long beds or the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # BWRVK3400-5W with the Custom Underbed Installation Kit part # BWGNRK1384-5W for short beds.

B&W hitches are made in the USA and come with a lifetime warranty. They are considered to be one of the best options on the market. All of the above options will allow for both 5th wheel and gooseneck towing.
