Question:

Just got a 19 JL and I need to tow it with my motorhome. Need to get it ready to migrate south this winter.

We have everything you need to be ready. Starting with the tow bar, I recommend the Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain, part # RM-576. I like it because of the non-binding feature to make it easier to disconnect. It also includes safety cables, a 6-way wiring connector to go on the front of the Jeep, and the cable to connect the two vehicles. It also pairs well with the EZ5 base plate kit, part # RM-521453-5. The only catch is the Sterling's safety cable hooks will need to be connected to the Jeep's frame and not the base plates.

Since the Sterling includes the wiring connector I recommend using part # RM-152 diode kit to wire the Jeep. Add a charge line kit, part # RM-156-25, to maintain the Jeep's battery while you're towing. The charge line can also be connected through the 6-way that comes with the Sterling. Your Jeep also needs a Brake-Lite relay, part # RM-88400, to make sure the turn signals work properly with the RV's and don't override them while braking.

Our favorite braking system is the Stay-IN-Play DUO, part # SM99251. It's a permanent install so you don't need to set it up each time you tow. And since you're Jeep is brand new there's really no reason to worry about a portable unit since you'll probably keep your JL for quite a while.

Finally, you'll likely need a high-low adapter to make sure the tow bar is leveled when the Jeep and motorhome are connected. I've attached an article to help you determine the correct rise or drop your setup requires. I've also linked our selection of adapters for you to look at once you know what you need.

In addition to my recommendations I've linked some articles on flat towing that you may find helpful.
