Recommendations for Submersible Boat Trailer Lights that Short Out when Submerged

Question:

I have had problems with the side marker lights on my boat trailer shorting and blowing fuses. Replaced old sealed incandescent with sealed LED but where the ground is via the mounting screw in the base. Still shorts after submersing in salt water at the ramp. Do you have a completely sealed unit that will not short if submersed? Somtimes cant avoid submersing the marker light. Thank you!

There may be some wiring on your trailer that is exposed that is causing the short on the circuit, if you can locate that and repair it as necessary you should be able to eliminate the shorting and fuse blowing you are experiencing on your trailer. I attached a demonstration video for the Optronics Trailer Light # MCL95AB for you to check out also.

The other option you have would be to unplug your trailer connector before you submerge it in water. I attached an FAQ article on trailer wiring for you to check out also.
